Wine Tunnel
Wine, history and the character of Kakheti in one place
Set on the slope of the Caucasus range, the Kvareli Wine Tunnel offers guests a unique experience of Georgian winemaking, cuisine and hospitality.
Thousands of bottles of premium wine are kept in the 7.7-kilometre system of tunnels carved into the rock. Guests can visit the collection vineyards, taste Georgian wine and chacha, and attend the traditional qvevri-opening ceremony, often accompanied by Georgian folk singing. During the harvest season, guests can take part in picking grapes and pressing them in a traditional satsnakheli.
The tunnel experience is completed by a restaurant on the mountainside, with panoramic views over the Alazani Valley, where Georgian dishes paired with local wines create a special taste.
The Kvareli Wine Tunnel — a place where wine becomes history, and a visit becomes an unforgettable experience.
